Why I Became a Real Estate Speaker—Even After Swearing I Never Would
If you’d told me five years ago that I’d be standing on stages as a real estate speaker, I would’ve laughed. Loudly.
And then said, “No thanks.”
I never saw myself as a speaker. I was the agent who liked to do the work, not talk about it. The one who preferred building relationships over building slides. And honestly? The idea of stepping on stage felt way too polished, way too buttoned-up… and way too far from the messy, beautiful reality of what real estate is actually like.
But that’s exactly why I changed my mind.
And why speaking has become one of the most powerful, joyful things I do today.
From Overworked Agent to Empowered Educator
For years, I was in the thick of it, running a top-producing team, grinding through 70-hour weeks, doing all the things agents are told they need to do to be successful. And yes, I hit all the “milestones”:
Multi-million dollar sales volume
Brokerage awards
More clients than I had hours in the day
But behind the scenes? I was burned out, maxed out, and missing out on my life.
So, I did what a lot of us don’t do soon enough: I hit pause. I re-evaluated. And I got really honest about the kind of business and life, I actually wanted to build.
That was the start of Happy Agent Co.
The Challenge: Could I Really Teach This to Other Agents?
Once I found a new rhythm, one built on joy, systems, and alignment, I felt this pull to share what I had learned. But here’s the thing:
I didn’t want to become another real estate speaker who tells agents to “work harder” or “double down on cold calls.”
I wanted to show agents a different path.
One where they didn’t have to choose between success and sanity.
Where they could hit their goals without burning out.
Where they could define success on their own terms.
Still, the voice in my head said:
“Who am I to teach this?”
“What if I’m not polished enough?”
“What if I get on that stage and totally bomb?”
Spoiler alert: I didn’t. In fact, the response was overwhelming in the best way.

The Turning Point
My first workshop wasn’t flashy. No big stage. Just a room full of agents and one simple goal: help them feel more in control of their business.
I shared my real story, no sugarcoating. The hustle. The overwhelm. The moment I almost walked away.
Then I shared how I rebuilt it all with systems, boundaries, and alignment.
And something shifted.
Hands went up. Heads nodded. Tears welled. People came up after saying:
“This is the first training I’ve attended that felt real.”
“You said everything I’ve been feeling but haven’t had words for.”
“You made me excited about real estate again.”
That’s when I knew:
I wasn’t meant to speak like other speakers.
I was meant to speak like me, bold, honest, imperfect, and 100% real.
The Ripple Effect
Since then, I’ve spoken for brokerages, associations, title companies, and CE events always with the same mission:
To help agents ditch the hustle and build a business (and life) that actually feels good.
Each time, I see it:
The overwhelmed solo agent who finally believes they can do this
The team leader who walks away ready to lead with more clarity
The new agent who finally sees a path that doesn’t require burnout
And that’s why I’m a real estate speaker now.
Not because I love the spotlight. But because I believe agents deserve better.
At Happy Agent Co., we’re not here to preach hustle or perfection. We’re here to create a real, aligned version of success, one that gives agents more peace, more profit, and way more joy.
And speaking has become one of the best ways to spread that message.
If you’re looking for a real estate speaker who’s real, relatable, and results-driven, someone who’s been in it and knows how to teach agents what actually works, let’s connect.
