Episode 27 - Mid-Year Reality Check: Are You on Track or Just Tired?
I had a moment the other day. One of those whoa, how is it June already? moments.
It hit me right between a client call and trying to remember if I packed sunscreen in my kid’s camp bag.
We are halfway through 2025. And while part of me wanted to high-five myself for surviving the first half of the year, another part of me whispered, “Wait…am I even on track?”
If you’re feeling a little off right now, maybe tired, distracted, or like your business doesn’t feel quite right, you’re not alone. The truth? Most real estate agents I coach feel this way around the mid-year mark. But instead of spiraling or slapping together a half-baked action plan, I want to offer something different:
A reality check, but one rooted in reflection, not judgment.
The 4-Point Mid-Year Check-In (aka Your Permission Slip to Reset)
You don’t need to throw everything out. You don’t need to "catch up."
You just need to pause, reflect, and course correct, with intention.
Here’s how I’m doing that, and how you can too:
1. Start With Joy
This is always our first pillar in The Happy Agent Method, because if you’re not enjoying your business, what are we even doing?
Ask yourself:
What’s actually lighting you up in your business right now?
What feels like a soul suck? (Yes, I said it.)
When was the last time you felt genuinely proud of something you did in your work?
This was a big one for me. I realized that outsourcing something I used to love, design and content creation, was actually draining my joy. So I brought it back into my weekly rhythm, not because it was the most efficient move, but because it made me feel like me again.
2. Maximize Your Money
Are you where you want to be financially? Not just “Did I make sales?” but:
Are you profitable?
Are you tracking your income and expenses?
Are your efforts translating to actual income, or just keeping you busy?
This isn’t about shame. It’s about getting clear so you can make strategic moves. Remember: This is your business. You are allowed to pivot at any time.
3. Attract More (of the Right) Clients
Let’s be honest: Not every client is a dream client. If you’ve been saying yes to anyone with a pulse because the market feels unpredictable, I get it, but it’s time to take your power back.
Ask yourself:
Are your current clients aligned with the way you want to work?
Where are your best clients coming from?
Are you setting expectations that support a smooth process?
You do not have to work with every lead that comes your way. You’re the boss here. You control the process. Your clients control the decisions.
4. Streamline Your Systems (and Protect Your Energy)
Are your systems helping you breathe, or are they burying you in busywork?
This part of the check-in is about working smarter, not harder:
Are you still doing everything manually?
Are you using the tools you’re paying for?
Are you honoring your natural energy rhythms?
Maybe you’re an early bird. Maybe you need a mid-week break. Maybe it’s time to finally automate your follow-up or dive into that CRM you bought six months ago. Whatever it is, now’s the moment to build systems that support your life, not just your sales.
My Challenge to You (AKA Your Reset Ritual)
You don’t need a full-blown rebrand or a 19-tab spreadsheet.
You need 3 small, high-impact shifts:
Choose one priority for the next 30 days. Just one. Not five. ONE.
Set one boundary that protects your time, energy, or joy.
Recommit to one joyful activity that brings you back to you.
That’s it. That’s the magic.
You Are the Boss. Period.
Let this be your reminder:
You are not too late.
You are not behind.
You are definitely not broken.
You’re just human. You’re just in business. And you have full permission to pivot.
A happy agent is a successful one, and you’re allowed to be both.
So let’s stop the spiral and start getting intentional about the second half of this year. You’ve got time. You’ve got power. And I’m right here with you.
