How Training Agents Helped Me Fall Back in Love With the Industry
I didn’t become a real estate trainer because I always dreamed of standing in front of a room with a clicker and a PowerPoint.
I became one because I fell out of love with real estate and I needed a way back.
This industry gave me so much: growth, freedom, and the ability to build a life on my own terms. But like so many agents, I also burned out hard.
I got lost in the hustle, the comparison, the constant pressure to scale and sell and smile no matter what.
So when I started training other agents, I thought I was just teaching what I’d learned.
What I didn’t expect?
They would help me heal my relationship with real estate.
Where It Started: Burned Out But Still Believing
I spent nearly two decades as a full-time agent, solo at first, then building a high-performing team in one of the most competitive markets in the country.
I hit every traditional milestone:
Top producer
Seven-figure GCI
A calendar packed with back-to-back appointments
On paper, it looked perfect. But inside? I was drained, detached, and honestly… done.
I had lost the part of real estate I loved most: helping people in a meaningful way.
The milestone I started chasing wasn’t more closings, it was clarity.
The Breakdown That Led to the Breakthrough
When I took a step back from the sales grind, I had a decision to make:
Do I walk away from real estate entirely?
Or do I try to reimagine my place in it?
I started asking myself:
What if I could teach without selling?
What if I could coach without pretending I had it all figured out?
What if I could lead from experience, not ego?
That was the beginning of Happy Agent Co.
And unknowingly, the beginning of my journey into becoming a real estate trainer but not the kind I used to roll my eyes at.
Training That’s Real (Not Rah-Rah)
I made one promise when I stepped into this role:
I’d only teach what I know works because I’ve lived it.
No fluff.
No “just hustle harder” lectures.
No pretending this business isn’t hard sometimes.
When I started showing up in training rooms and Zooms, something shifted in me.
I saw the spark in agents’ eyes when I said things like:
“Your business shouldn’t make you lose your mind or your weekends.”
“You don’t have to do things the way everyone else does.”
“You get to build this in a way that actually feels good.”
That’s when I realized: I didn’t fall out of love with real estate. I fell out of love with the version I was told I had to build.

The Ripple Effect I Didn’t See Coming
As I continued to train agents both brand new and decades in, I saw it happen again and again:
Agents breathing sighs of relief
People crying in gratitude because they finally felt seen
Entire rooms nodding when I told the truth about burnout, boundaries, and what no one says out loud
And through their breakthroughs, I found my own.
Their success stories became my success story.
Their joy reminded me of mine.
Full-Circle Moments & Fresh Purpose
I’ve now led training sessions for brokerages, associations, CE events, and teams across the country.
Not because I want the stage but because I want to shift the story.
Because if we can change how agents feel about this business,
We can change how they show up in their lives.
And that ripple? That’s everything.
Why I’m Here, and Why I’m Staying
Becoming a real estate trainer wasn’t the career move I planned,
It was the lifeline I didn’t know I needed.
It reconnected me to purpose.
It allowed me to serve in a deeper, more fulfilling way.
It reminded me that when we lead with honesty, alignment, and joy, we all win.
At Happy Agent Co., our mission is simple:
Help agents ditch the hustle and build a business that feels good again.
And training is how I bring that mission to life, one room, one Zoom, one human conversation at a time.
